-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EIGHT local community groups were granted $14,900 from Hume City Council for the 2009 Hume Winter Music Festival that runs from 17 July to 9 August.
Hume mayor Jack Ogilvie said the festival would draw inspiration from the diversity of cultures around Hume.
“This year the festival will include big names like Jason Coleman and Kate DeAraugo, but will also continue to showcase the talent within our community,” he said.
The grants were awarded to Dallas Neighbourhood House, Meadow Heights Learning Shop, Fiji Social and Cultural Organisation of Victoria Australia, Sunwine Swoon, North Victorian Buddhist Association, Broadmeadows Community Singers, Sunbury Community Arts Network and Hume Assyrian Chaldean Women’s Group.
