Sadly, Kate’s’ home town of Bendigo was one of the many Victorian towns affected by the bushfires on Feb 7th. Kate was home at the time, and was amazed at the incredible Support by not only Emergency Services and volunteers, but the Business Community and the General community of Central Victoria, even young school children doing whatever they could. With this in mind Kate decided to organise a Free Concert to congratulate and say Thank You to the entire Community for their efforts to help those affected by the fires. What a Concert it Was !! Artists from all over Australia gave up their time to come to Bendigo and perform at “Bendigo Says Thanks” Concert. Artists included Angry Anderson and Rose Tattoo, The Screaming Jets, Dragon, Choirboys, Diesel, Venetta Fields, Young Divas, and James Southwell and the Fallen Angels. A large number of local bands also performed on the day. There was something for everyone, including a dedicated kids area with a dance stage, rides, face painting and an animal farm. One of the largest crowds ever seen at an event in Bendigo (an estimated 10,000 overall) had a fantastic day and evening and the artists enjoyed it as much as the crowd, making the “Bendigo Says Thank” Concert an amazing community event and an enormous success. Since then Kate has been working on songs for some new solo performances, and some performances with James Southwell. Kate will be appearing in The Broad Beach Blues Festival with James on May 29th. Kate and James are also planning some dates in W.A Kate will be going into the studio to record some long awaited solo material and is also planning a stint overseas   Stay tuned for more news and details
